All for the Glory of God Through Music

Have you ever had a friend tell you about an amazing turn of events, God’s clear calling for one’s life, then continues with, “Thank you for praying for me.” This happened recently with an interesting twist. The prayer request was made many years ago regarding a position in music ministry. My friend’s story jogged my memory and I recalled our conversations.

Mark Twain said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.” My friend Bruce knows why. He is a Christian husband, father, and an accomplished musician. His stated goal for his ministry is, “To spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through my music.” God’s glory displayed for all who hear Bruce play.

Pray with and for others when they ask and even when they don’t request special prayer. To cover the ones you care about with prayer is a gift of eternal value. This is especially true in parenting. Petition the Lord on behalf of your children. Ask Him to reveal your child’s gifts and talents. Explore what those gifts may be and encourage your child to make use of his God-given talents. Then give credit where credit is due…to God from whom all blessings and talents flow. Spread the Word!

…brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord
may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.

Becky, oh how I love your wise words here. Weave the words music, prayer, and God together and something amazing happens. I recall the day I realized, as Mark Twain put it, “the why.” It clarifies so much. And allows me to cull the things from my life and schedule that don’t conform to the “why.” And pray is so very vital in every single step. Thank you for this wonderful post today!
