Apple Pie, An American Favorite

For Election Day, what’s more American than apple pie for dessert? This recipe is a lot of fun for kids as it’s made in small foil pie pans. Enjoy!

All American Mini Apple Pie
2 apples
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. water
refrigerated pie crust

Press crust into small foil pie pan. Wash, peel, and dice apples. Mix apples in bowl with lemon juice and water. Gently pour mixture into crust. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Use remaining pie crust to make lattice top crust. Seal each lattice end to the bottom crust. Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes or until apples are soft. (Shield crust with aluminum foil if it’s getting too brown.) Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Top with a small American flag!
