Indoor Fun for Cold Winter Days

Indoor Fun for Cold Winter Days
What do we DO with our little ones when it’s too cold to play outside?” I’ve had requests for help  recently from moms and dads, thus Tips for Frigid Day Fun. Wintertime is no longer a novelty in February, especially when then the air temperature and windchill dip below zero.

Tips for Frigid Day Fun

❄️  Cover the bottom of a jelly roll with rice or dried beans. Get out the small diggers and dump trucks to play.
❄️  Sweep out the garage to clean the floor for young artists. Bundle up the kids and head to the garage with sidewalk chalk to create floor art. Take photos before cars are pulled in for the evening.
❄️  Use letter-shaped cookie cutters or create stencils from card stock with the names of all family members. Prepare and roll out cookie dough, cut the letters out, bake, and cool the cookies. Decorate with frosting and sprinkles in each family member’s favorite colors.
❄️  Pull out socks meant for the rag bag or dusting. Create sock puppets. A box can be converted into a stage.
❄️  Provide blankets, pillows, sheets and a card table or two. Let your kids build a hideaway for quiet time after lunch. Who knows, they just might nap!

Give your kids an idea and let them run with it. Children need to be able to amuse themselves and come up with ways to explore, create, and imagine.
