A.C.T.S. – Imagine

Last month we began the Adventures in Odyssey service challenge A.C.T.S., A Call to Serve.  This month we are continuing on with the Summer of Service A.C.T.S. blog tour by focusing on IMAGINATION. How can your family serve others using the gifts and talents God has provided?

As our boys have grown, Scott and I have found many opportunities to serve as a family. Working alongside one another, helping others has been a good experience. Whether packing meals for Feed My Starving Children, serving at a homeless shelter, preparing and delivering a mercy meal for a family in need or going on a missions trip, we’ve served together. These shared experiences have provided a lot for our family…most importantly a willingness to help others. All it takes is eyes to see those in need, a heart open to help, and a little imagination. Recalling stories of how we’ve served has been fun too!

Unleashing Imagination
This summer, Adventures in Odyssey encourages kids to write their OWN stories, as they join in ACTS: A Call to Serve! AIO is helping children use their imaginations to serve their family, community, and world this summer—maybe by sending a care package to a missionary or baking cookies for the local fire department. Check out www.whitsend.org/acts  for details and a chance to win fabulous prizes, including a mission trip with a parent to Costa Rica! Adventures in Odyssey has a free ACTS “Summer of Service” kit, available for download to get you and your kids thinking of how you can serve.

What imaginative ways can your family serve others? Comment below and post your ideas before June 28 to win three books from the Imagination Station series! A winner will be randomly chosen from those who submit an idea of how to serve others as a family.
NOTE: This give-away is open to residents of the U.S. only. Void where prohibited. Must be at least 18 years of age to enter.
