There are a lot of resources for parents. Just walk through the local bookstore. The shelves are bursting with the latest and greatest ways to raise kids, nurture your marriage, and build strong faith-filled families.

This post is to highlight a few of my newest favorites. These authors are part of the 1 Corinthians 13 Parenting team who are equipping moms and dads to be the best they can be personally, as a spouse, and a parent. I am incredibly blessed by this group individuals and ministries. The books they’ve authored are valuable resources for your family.

10 Great Dates and Marriage Alive Ministries Claudia Arp and David Arp, MSW, grandparents of eight, are founders & directors of Marriage Alive International, creators of the award-winning date night program, 10 Great Dates. The Arps have written over thirty books on marriage. Scott and I attended an event at our church early in our marriage. He and I were incredible blessed by their message in building a strong, God-centered marriage. Heather and Peter Larson work alongside the Arps to strengthen marriages and families.They hosted the DVD 10 Great Dates Before You Say “I Do” and coauthored 10 Great Dates to Grow Together Spiritually with the Arps.

A Father’s Walk Matt Haviland speaks words of life and encouragement into single parent families. He’s a “regular gut who chases after an extraordinary God”. He has a passion to lead and grow others in their walk with Christ, and to help turn generational curses into blessings by equipping single fathers in their own walk with the Lord. His work is amazing!

Family Time Training Both founder Kirk Weaver and Jenna Hallock blog for 1C13P. This ministry trains over 8,000 family members each year in faith building. It’s a wealth of solid, Bible-based, fun activities to incorporate faith into all aspects of family life. The newest Family Time title is God’s Awesome Story: Fitting the Pieces Together for Kids, Youth, and Families. This is a fab resource ministry for families with children of all ages.

Rising Above Ministries Jeff Davidson is a pastor and now missionary to special needs families. He and his wife, Becky, founded Rising Above Ministries, a national special needs ministry, birthed out of their own experiences as parents of Jon Alex, their child with special needs. Jeff shares hope, encouragement, inspiration, and the love of God. His new book, No More Peanut Butter Sandwiches will be released soon! I’m reading an electronic copy and I’m loving every minute of it. Geared for special needs families, the book should be read by everyone.

Seeking Grace in the Chaos Julia Roller is one of the newest members of the 1C13P team. She is the author of many books, the newest of which I had the honor of pre-reading and endorsing. Mom Seeks God is a look at motherhood, finding time to spend with God while being surrounded by the “happy chaos” of life with little kids. I enjoyed her book tremendously.

Stone Foundations of Learning, Inc. Megan Stone is educator extraordinaire. As founder of Stone Foundations of Learning, Inc. she leads the way in building confidence, getting organized, and developing self-advocacy skills in students. She encourages them in the concept of ownership that carries over into important life skills. Megan is the author of Own Your Education: A Student’s Guide to Greater Success in School (and Life). It’s a fabulous book for parents and kids! Many ideas have been implemented at my house!

1 Corinthians 13 Parenting Last, but TOTALLY not least, is my ministry partner and co-founder of 1 Corinthians 13 Parenting, Lori Wildenberg. Lori is an amazing wife, mom, friend, licensed parent and family educator, speaker…and the list could go on and on. She weaves transparency, warmth, and gentle humor into her realistic approach to parenting, meeting parents right where they are and helping them get where they want to go. Lori and I co-authored our first book, Empowered Parents: Putting Faith First and the newly released 1 Corinthians 13 Parent series.
