Jesus at Easter and Always

Linda read a beautiful prayer at bible study this past week. The words reflect the many ways Jesus touched others during his ministry. May this prayer bless you as Easter approaches.

I pray that Christ may come to you early in the morning as He came to Mary that morning in the garden.
And I pray that you will find Christ in the night when you need him as Nicodemus did.
And may Christ come to you while you are a child for when the disciples tried to stop them Jesus insisted the children come to him.
And I pray that Christ comes to you when you are old as he came to old Simeon’s arms, who cried out,
“Lord, now let your servant depart in peace for my eyes have seen.”
And may Christ come to you when you grieve as he did for Mary and Martha when they lost their brother.
And may Christ come to you in joy as he did to the wedding in Cana.
And may Christ visit you when you are sick as he did for the daughter of Jarius and for so many others who could not walk, nor stand straight, nor see, nor hear, until he came.
And may the Lord Jesus come in answer to your questions as he once did for a lawyer and a rich ruler. And in your madness may he stand before you in all his power an he stood among the graves that day before a Legion.
And may Christ come to you in glory when you die as he did to the thief hanging beside him that Good Friday.
And may you find Christ in the darkness of your life so that you would know there is no place he would not come for you.
Amen

“These biblical stories refer to each one of these persons in the scripture. The prayer refers to part of ourselves and is part of the One with whom we are encountering. Every one of them (was) embraced, healed, cleaned…by the Risen Christ. Share this prayer with me, in any way it is helpful.”
