Learn, Discern and Protect Your Family

Where do you go to learn, discern, and protect yourself and your family when the world is crazy? The best place to go is to your knees with God’s Word and an open heart.

A young mom texted me recently for resources to use during the pandemic and social unrest. Both she and her spouse were stretch to the max emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The immediate answer was to start with the Bible. Scripture is the most effective way to learn, discern, and protect my family as well as be filled with peace and comfort.

Five Tips and Resources to Learn, Discern, and Protect

  1. Read the Bible as a family. Use an age appropriate version for your kids (children’s, elementary, teen).
  2. Apply what’s learned. Discuss the verses and how the truth of God’s Word can be applied in the current circumstances.
  3. Choose scripture to pray, inserting the names of family members into the verses.
  4. Choose an online tool for Bible study. Download the app on your phone so you’re never without the Bible.
  5. Check out the study tools and reading plans for further learning. Try these online tools:
