Boatloads of Benefits for Breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And really the easiest to prepare. The benefits are tremendous for both you and your children!

Try these helpful hints for beat the clock for a quick morning meal!

• Use brown & serve sausage to save time. (I dice the leftover sausage, bacon or ham and toss it into scrambled eggs the next morning.)

• Get set the night before- set the table, set pans out, place nonperishables on the table (salt & pepper, honey, etc.) Place the devotional or Bible on the table for your study too.

• Use one pan- scramble the eggs in the same pan you browned the sausage in to save on clean up time.

• Request everyone be responsible for bussing dishes and loading the dishwasher.

Simple Breakfasts

Cheesy Ham & Egg Scramble Combine 4 eggs and 1/2 C milk in a bowl. Whisk together. Add 12 C diced ham. Pour into heated skillet, coated with cooking spray. Stir until eggs are firm. Sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Great with whole wheat toast!

Brown-Eyed Susan Melt butter in a pan. Use a drinking glass or a cookie cutter to remove the middle of a slice of bread. Place the bread in the melted butter. Crack an egg in the center. Flip over when bread begins to brown. Toast the center cut out too! NOTE: If you have kids who refuse to eat egg yolks, scramble the egg!

Yogurt, Granola and Berries Layer vanilla yogurt, granola and berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries…whatever your kids like best) in a glass sundae dish or even a drinking glass. Top with a big berry and a spoon.

Triple Decker PB&J Toast three slices of bread. Cool slightly. Spread one with peanut butter and one with jelly. Use the third to sandwich in between. Cut into quarters for little ones to share. Teens will want their own!

Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you,
even as your soul is getting along well.
