Making Christmas Calm & Bright

Family, friends, and festivities make for a fun holiday season but not necessarily a peace-filled Christmas. Pose the following questions to your family at a family meeting to determine priorities and prepare for a calm and bright holiday. A little preparation and attainable expectations will make a huge difference for everyone.

• Who will we spend time with this holiday season: family, friends, neighbors?
• What festivities and traditions do we want to schedule for the month of December?
• When will each activity take place? Will any of our choices change the routine (sleep, meals)?
• Why are we celebrating? Why is each tradition special? Does the tradition reflect faith in Jesus?
• How will we handle the logistics: travel, houseguests, special meals?

Intentional planning makes the holiday season more enjoyable. Take into consideration how you can choose to use your time, talents, and treasure for others this Christmas too. Brainstorm and plan for action as a family.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
