The Blessing House

What’s your definition of hospitality? Have you ever consider how your home can be used to bless others? Home is where love is expressed. What better love than the love of Jesus?

Gail Berger has taken the phrase “home is where the heart is” to a whole new level. She is truly one of the most amazing women I’ve ever met. Gail is the founder of the Blessing House in Victoria, Minnesota. It’s a place for ministry, fellowship, love, and learning. I’ve attended bible studies, meetings, fund-raising events, and taught classes at the Blessing House. Each visit brings a new appreciation and love for Gail and her vision to draw people to Jesus.

Gail wholeheartedly believes in biblical hospitality. Her mission is to point people to Jesus through the ministry of home and hospitality found in the Word of God. Hospitality builds community to encourage one another (Hebrews 10:24-25). God commands us to be hospitable to others (Romans 12:13). The poor, alien, and needy can be cared for and blessed through acts of kindness (Luke 14:12-14). Extending hospitality is a blessing to the host (Hebrews13:2). It’s the concept of “blessed to be a blessing” on steroids.

Gail’s new book, The Blessing House: Making Your Ordinary Home into a Space for Kingdom Ministry will inspire you. Imagine spaces for ministry in your home: the backyard, garage, tree fort, party room at the condo, or other areas. Gail has woven her story into how the ministry concept was born and why it flourishes today.
